Fashion Over Reason Selfie, H&M oversized fluffy striped sweater, vintage white fur, Zara denim, Over-the-knee thigh high boots, Gap knit pompom hat

If one would take a gander at my wardrobe, they would notice a few things at first glance: tons of denim, loads of t-shirts in both black and white, and an overabundance of stripes. I loooooove stripes. In every shape (small ones, big ones, gradient ones, spaced out ones, cramped together ones) and form (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, long sleeves, t-shirts) -- I am a shameless stripe magpie. I am endlessly attracted to striped shirts. If I engage in a bit of retail therapy, I will go straight to the striped shirt area. If a man wears stripes, it makes him hot. It's one of those prints that are both forever classic and trendy all at once. The most fail-proof go-to, if you will.

So now that I've establish the extent of my stripe compulsion, it won't come as a surprise that nautical sartorial vibes are also real big in my personal book of style. After all, horizontal stripes automatically conjure up images of sailors thanks to their definitive uniform. I'm also a sucker for ankle-length slacks, a good boat shoe and a neck handkerchief. So how about channeling my inner sea(wo)man with a wintery twist? Pop on an oversized fur chubby, swap your Sperrys for the ever-urban thigh-high boot and make the change from clean, precise horizontal lines to fuzzy-wuzzy blurry-as-can-be chunky knitwear.
