This post is in partnership with CVS because they're looking to bring awareness to something that is near and dear to my personal values and convictions: clean beauty.
If you follow me on
Instagram (you should, it's fun there!), then you're well aware of my proclivities for skincare, particularly my holistic approach and the importance I award to clean beauty products. I'm admittedly kind of a beauty snob knowing that too many big companies fail us on the ingredient front.
I try to be very mindful of what products I use and what's in them, along with which brands I endorse and what their practices are.
I know that clean beauty can seem daunting, unattainable, or even sometimes elitist. Most of the category sits at a higher price point, which is really unfair to consumers. It's crazy to me that not everyone can access high-quality skincare that's free of certain chemicals.
This is where CVS comes in—it's my local pharmacy btw, I go in there about once a week to pick things up, it's truly the best. And I love them even more now that I know how committed they are to making clean beauty accessible to everyone by carrying a huge range of brands with skincare lines that you can feel good about putting on your largest organ (your skin) every single day.
I'm also incredibly pleased to let you know that CVS has pledged to remove parabens and phthalates from hundreds of store brand beauty and personal care products by 2020. How's that for monumental?
In the meantime, look for the green clean sticker on the CVS Health and Beauty 360 products that says "Paraben and Phthalate Free" to ensure you're getting the good stuff, and keep reading to see some of my personal favorites.
____________
The Burt's Bees products are always standouts, here we have the
cuticle wax ('tis the season! It's also great for dry elbows btw) and the cleansing oil. I loveeee cleansing oils.
The
Pixi Glow Tonic is also an all-time fav. It didn't get its cult status for nothing—this guy is a real superstar. It's an acid exfoliant that will clear your skin and straight up make you glow.
The
Thayers Witch Hazel is another amazing cult classic — a super soothing toner with healing properties.
Now for maybe my favorite category — masks. CVS has a ton of clean options for individual sheet masks that are totally clutch for traveling.
Below I have the
Beauty 360 Purifying Grapefruit & Charcoal mask and the
Beauty 360 Plumping mask, which are both fantastic.
Also awesome for travel are the
Beauty 360 Cleansing Towelettes and the
Charcoal Pore Strips (perhaps the most satisfying skincare item, like, ever).
There are so many awesome clean beauty options at CVS, all at an accessible price point and for a range of solutions. It makes me so happy to finally see this category being democratized — anyone can now have access to products that are free from these chemicals..
Time to take a field trip to CVS :)
